What personal data does CareerLift.ai store?

We store your account information (name, email), professional profile (job title, experience, skills), resume content, interview session history and responses, job tracker entries, learning path progress, and ATS scan results. How is my resume and personal data protected?

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. We use Row-Level Security so your data is only accessible to you. Your resume and profile data are never shared with employers, recruiters, or any third party without your explicit consent. We do not sell your data.

Can I delete my data?

Yes — at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data (resume, session history, learning path progress, job tracker, profile) from Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing privacy@careerlift.ai. We process deletion requests within 30 days.

Do you comply with CCPA and GDPR?

Yes. California residents have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any data sale (we don't sell data). EEA/UK users have GDPR rights including access, portability, correction, and erasure. Contact privacy@careerlift.ai to exercise any of these rights.

Are my interview responses sent to external services?

Yes — your interview responses are sent to OpenAI's API for evaluation. We strip personally identifiable information (name, email) before sending. We do not use your data to train models. Data sent to OpenAI is subject to their API data usage policy (zero data retention by default on API calls).

Is my voice data recorded and stored?

Voice interviews use real-time speech-to-text transcription via Deepgram. Audio is streamed for transcription and is not permanently stored after the session ends. Only the text transcript of your response is saved to your session history.

How do monthly credits work on paid plans?

Paid plans run on a monthly credit balance — Starter 300, Pro 600, Elite 1,500 credits (1 credit = 1 minute of practice). Start as many sessions as you want; credits are only deducted for the actual time you spend in a session. Your balance resets to the full plan amount on your billing renewal date. Low-balance warnings appear on your dashboard at 30% remaining.
