How does the AI interview practice work?

You set up a session by selecting your target role, company, interview type, and optionally uploading your resume or pasting a job description. Our AI generates tailored questions, listens to your responses via voice or text, and delivers detailed feedback on content, structure, communication, and areas for improvement — all in real time.

What types of interviews can I practice?

We cover behavioral, technical, system design, coding (with live code execution), case study, product management, and company-specific rounds for 10+ top companies including Google, Amazon, Meta, Apple, and Microsoft. Sessions can be tailored using your actual job description for hyper-relevant questions.

Can I use my resume to get personalized questions?

Yes. Upload your resume or paste it as text during session setup. CareerLift.ai reads your skills, experience, and background to generate questions that match your profile — so you practice what you'll actually be asked.

What is ATS resume scoring?

ATS (Applicant Tracking System) scoring analyzes your resume against a job description and tells you your match score, which keywords are present, which are missing, and how to improve your bullet points to increase your chances of passing automated screening filters used by employers.

What does the Resume Builder do?

The Resume Builder helps you create a polished, ATS-optimized resume from scratch or improve your existing one. It includes an AI bullet point generator that rewrites your experience in strong, action-oriented language, and a tailored resume feature that customizes your resume for each specific job posting.

What is the Chrome Extension?

The CareerLift.ai Chrome Extension installs in your browser and activates when you browse job listings on LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and other boards. It instantly shows you an ATS match score for each listing, lets you start a tailored interview practice session directly from the job page, and helps you analyze your skill fit against any job description.

What is the Job Tracker?

The Job Tracker is a Kanban-style pipeline where you can save, organize, and track every job you've applied to — across stages like Saved, Applied, Phone Screen, Interview, Offer, and Rejected. It integrates with the Chrome Extension so you can add jobs directly from job boards with one click.

How is CareerLift.ai different from other interview prep tools?

Most tools offer static question banks or basic flashcards. CareerLift.ai combines AI interview coaching, resume optimization, job tracking, and a browser extension into one platform. Our interview sessions are tailored to your actual resume and the specific job description you're applying for — not generic questions.

What personal data does CareerLift.ai store?

We store your account information (name, email), professional profile (job title, experience, skills), resume content, interview session history and responses, and ATS scan results. We do not store payment card details (handled by Stripe). Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Does the Chrome Extension read my browsing activity?

The extension only activates on supported job board domains (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and others listed in our Privacy Policy). It reads job listing content to compute ATS scores and skill-match analysis. It does not track your general browsing history, read unrelated pages, or send data to third parties.

How is my resume and personal data protected?

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. We use Row-Level Security so your data is only accessible to you. Your resume and profile data are never shared with employers, recruiters, or any third party without your explicit consent. We do not sell your data.

Can I delete my data?

Yes — at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data (resume, session history, profile) from Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing privacy@careerlift.ai. We process deletion requests within 30 days.

Do you comply with CCPA and GDPR?

Yes. California residents have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any data sale (we don't sell data). EEA/UK users have GDPR rights including access, portability, correction, and erasure. Contact privacy@careerlift.ai to exercise any of these rights.

Are my interview responses sent to AI services?

Yes — your interview responses are sent to OpenAI's API for evaluation. We strip personally identifiable information (name, email) before sending. We do not use your data to train AI models. Data sent to OpenAI is subject to their API data usage policy (zero data retention by default on API calls).

Is my voice data recorded and stored?

Voice interviews use real-time speech-to-text transcription via Deepgram. Audio is streamed for transcription and is not permanently stored after the session ends. Only the text transcript of your response is saved to your session history.

What plans are available?

We offer three options: Free (3 sessions/month, basic features), Pro ($34.99/month — unlimited interview practice, all resume & cover letter tools, ATS scoring, Chrome Extension, job tracker, 10 company tracks, 12 core learning paths), and Elite ($49.99/month — everything in Pro plus all 25 company tracks, all 22 learning paths, priority AI model, unlimited job searches, salary negotiation coach, beta features, and a dedicated success manager). We also offer weekly billing — Pro at $13.99/week and Elite at $19.99/week, perfect if you have an interview coming up. All paid plans include a 7-day free trial.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — the Free plan lets you start without a credit card. Pro plans include a 7-day free trial on initial sign-up. Your card is not charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then with no cost.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes. Cancel at any time from Settings → Subscription → Manage, or via the Stripe Customer Portal. You keep full access until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees.

Do you offer refunds?

Monthly plans: no refunds once a billing cycle starts. For billing errors or service outages, contact billing@careerlift.ai.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Go to Settings → Subscription and select a new plan. Upgrades take effect immediately (prorated charge for the remainder of your cycle). Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

What browsers and devices does CareerLift.ai support?

CareerLift.ai works on any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) on desktop and mobile. For the best voice interview and Chrome Extension experience, we recommend Google Chrome on desktop. No downloads are required for the web app — just sign in and start.

Which browsers does the Chrome Extension support?

The CareerLift.ai extension is currently available for Google Chrome and Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave). A Firefox version is planned. Install it from the Chrome Web Store after signing up for a Pro account.

Which job boards does the Chrome Extension work on?

The extension currently supports LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and a growing list of company career pages. It detects job listings automatically and shows ATS match scores and quick-practice buttons without any setup.

What programming languages are supported for coding interviews?

Our coding interview practice supports 15+ languages including Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, C, Go, Rust, Ruby, Swift, Kotlin, C#, PHP, Scala, and R. Code runs in a sandboxed environment with real-time output and AI-powered evaluation.

Does CareerLift.ai require an internet connection?

An internet connection is required for AI-powered features (interview sessions, ATS scoring, resume tools). Your saved session history and job tracker are accessible offline for review.
