Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CareerLift.ai's website, web application, Chrome Extension, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and CareerLift.ai ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). They apply to all visitors, registered users, and subscribers.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age (or 13 in jurisdictions governed by COPPA) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet the minimum age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization.

3. Description of Service

CareerLift.ai is an AI-powered career acceleration platform that provides:

• AI-powered interview practice (behavioral, technical, system design, coding, and company-specific rounds)
• Real-time voice and text interview sessions with AI evaluation and feedback
• Resume Builder: create, optimize, and tailor resumes to specific job descriptions
• ATS Resume Scoring: match your resume against job descriptions and identify missing keywords
• AI Bullet Point Generator: improve resume bullet points with action-oriented language
• Cover Letter Generator: AI-generated cover letters tailored to job postings
• Job Search & Job Tracker: search, save, organize, and track job applications through a pipeline
• Chrome Extension: ATS match scoring and interview launch directly on job boards (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, and others)
• Sandboxed code execution for coding interview practice
• Performance analytics, session history, progress tracking, and badges

We reserve the right to modify, add, or discontinue features at our discretion with reasonable notice.

Intended use: CareerLift.ai is designed exclusively for interview preparation, practice, and career development. It is not intended for use during actual employer-administered interviews or assessments.

4. User Accounts

When you create an account with us, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, complete, and current registration and profile information
• Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Immediately notify us of any unauthorized access at support@careerlift.ai
• Not share, transfer, or sell your account to another person
• Use only one account per individual

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.

5. Chrome Extension

The CareerLift.ai Chrome Extension is an optional browser tool. By installing and using the Extension, you agree that:

• The Extension activates only on supported job board domains and does not monitor your general browsing activity
• Job listing content (title, description, company) is read to compute ATS match scores and is not stored beyond your session
• You may uninstall the Extension at any time from your browser's extension manager

Refer to our Privacy Policy for details on what data the Extension accesses and how it is protected.

6. Subscription Plans & Pricing

6.1 Free Tier

The Free tier includes 3 interview sessions per month, 2 learning path sessions, 3 cover letter generations, and basic resume tools. No credit card is required. Usage limits may change with 30 days' notice.

6.2 Paid Subscriptions

We offer the following paid plans:

• Starter Monthly ($9.99/month): Unlimited interview sessions (daily practice cap of 30 minutes applies — see Section 6.3), all resume tools, cover letter generator. Auto-renews monthly until cancelled
• Pro Monthly ($34.99/month): Unlimited interview sessions (daily practice cap of 90 minutes applies — see Section 6.3), 10 company-specific tracks, 12 core learning paths, all resume and cover letter tools, Chrome Extension, job board, and more. Auto-renews monthly until cancelled
• Elite Monthly ($49.99/month): Unlimited interview sessions (daily practice cap of 180 minutes applies — see Section 6.3), all 25 company tracks, all 22+ learning paths, voice analysis, priority AI model, unlimited job searches, and beta features. Auto-renews monthly until cancelled
• Weekly Plans: 7-day access at Starter $4.99/week, Pro $13.99/week, Elite $19.99/week. Same daily caps apply. Auto-renews weekly until cancelled

6.3 Daily Practice Cap & Fair-Use Policy

All paid plans include unlimited interview sessions with a transparent daily practice cap shown in your dashboard. Caps reset at midnight UTC each day.

• Starter: 30 minutes of practice per day
• Pro: 90 minutes of practice per day
• Elite: 180 minutes (3 hours) of practice per day

Practice time is measured in actual wall-clock minutes from session start to session end — not pre-allocated time. Sessions under 2 minutes do not count toward your daily total. A silent monthly cap applies for financial protection (Starter: 300 min, Pro: 1,500 min, Elite: 2,000 min); normal users never reach this limit. We reserve the right to restrict access to accounts that circumvent these limits or use the service in a manner inconsistent with personal interview preparation.

By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method on the applicable recurring basis. Prices are in USD and exclusive of applicable taxes. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice before your next billing cycle.

6.3 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full card details. Your payment information is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.

10. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in your profile or resume
• Transmit malware or harmful code through the code execution feature or Extension
• Attempt unauthorized access to our systems, other users' accounts, or third-party services
• Scrape or use automated tools to extract data from the Service without authorization
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service or Extension
• Circumvent usage limits or plan restrictions
• Create multiple accounts to abuse free tier limits
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to the Service without our written consent
• Use the Service during an actual employer-administered interview or assessment to generate or relay AI responses as your own in real time

Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund.

11. Intellectual Property

11.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Service — including design, features, AI models, branding, logos, and original content — is owned by CareerLift.ai and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works without explicit written permission.

11.2 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create and submit, including:

• Your resume, cover letters, and professional information
• Interview responses (typed, spoken, or coded)
• Code written during coding practice sessions

By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, store, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service (e.g., sending your response to an AI provider for evaluation). We will not publish, sell, or distribute your content to third parties.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (b) AI-generated content, ATS scores, or resume feedback will be accurate; (c) use of the Service will result in job offers or any specific career outcome.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CAREERLIFT.AI, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:

• Loss of profits, revenue, or anticipated savings
• Loss of data or data corruption
• Career outcomes, including failure to secure employment
• Reliance on AI-generated feedback, ATS scores, or resume suggestions
• Any results or consequences from code execution

Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CareerLift.ai and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of third-party rights; (d) code you submit for execution; or (e) content or information you submit through the Service.

15. Termination

15.1 Termination by You

You may close your account at any time via account settings or by emailing support@careerlift.ai. Cancel any active subscription first (Section 7) to avoid further charges.

15.2 Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
• We are required to do so by law
• Your account has been inactive for more than 24 months
• We reasonably believe your account is compromised or being used fraudulently

15.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. We may retain data for a limited period per our Privacy Policy. Sections 11–14, 16–18 survive termination.

16. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

16.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any formal dispute, contact us at legal@careerlift.ai and allow 30 days to resolve informally.

16.2 Binding Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, in the State of Delaware unless otherwise agreed.

16.3 Class Action Waiver

YOU AGREE THAT DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.

16.4 Exceptions

Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for intellectual property infringement or unauthorized access to the Service.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. If arbitration is not applicable, exclusive jurisdiction shall be the state and federal courts in Delaware.

18. General Provisions

• Entire Agreement: These Terms plus the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and CareerLift.ai
• Severability: Invalid or unenforceable provisions do not affect the rest of the Terms
• Waiver: Failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right
• Assignment: You may not assign your rights without our consent. We may assign ours without restriction
• Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays caused by events beyond our reasonable control
• Notices: We may notify you by email, in-app notification, or posting on the Service. Send legal notices to legal@careerlift.ai

19. Changes to These Terms

• We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made
• Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect
• Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance
• If you disagree, you may cancel your subscription and stop using the Service
